Clarity is an original acrylic on canvas painting created in 2011 as part of my Zen Collection, a series of contemporary abstract paintings inspired by mindfulness, meditation, and Eastern philosophy.
Created through an intuitive process of layering color and form, the painting explores themes of awareness, balance, and inner stillness. Rather than beginning with a fixed image, I allowed the composition to emerge gradually, responding to the canvas as it evolved. The result is an abstract work that invites contemplation and personal interpretation.
Like much of the Zen Collection, Clarity reflects a search for simplicity and understanding, encouraging viewers to slow down, look closely, and engage with the work on their own terms.

Clarity was created during a period when I was deeply engaged in the study and practice of yoga, meditation, Zen philosophy, and Eastern contemplative traditions. The Zen Collection, created between 2010 and 2014, marked a significant shift in my artistic practice as I moved away from pastel and embraced acrylic painting and a more meditative approach to abstraction.
Rather than focusing on representation, these works explore simplicity, presence, and the relationship between inner experience and creative expression. Through layered surfaces and intuitive mark-making, the paintings became an extension of the contemplative practices that influenced their creation.
