The Cliff

THE CLIFF-circa ‘99

prevent me from knowing

the bone-white truth that lives in me

seduce my mind

like ether rising

sweet and irreversible

an undeniable

quenching  torture

bring me to the cliff

its stone indifferent

its edge clean

toss this useless

limp parcel of flesh

let me plummet

through the  the open mouth of air

to the jagged rocks below

forgive these these failed impressions

this intricate and unworkable life

empty me

rid out my soul

uncork it

set it loose

from the blazing laboratory

of my mind
