Created in a moment of surrender to nature’s quiet embrace, this abstract pastel on archival paper captures the energy of the woods and the emotional currents that run through my work. I made it at my friend’s lake cabin, a quiet respite where I found sanctuary. I began with resistance. Then golden sunlight poured through the windows and softened my edges. The stillness of the forest guided me. Each mark became a release and an instinctive expression of freedom drawn from the earth and the crisp air around me. Like the woods, this piece holds space for reflection and transformation. It becomes an unspoken language of feeling translated through color and form.
