Brothers and Sisters
Brothers and Sisters – Original Abstract Acrylic Painting by Erin McGrath Rieke
About this Artwork
I created Brothers and Sisters in 2011 as an exploration of connection, shared history, and the relationships that shape who we become. Through layered acrylic paint, expressive color, and intuitive mark-making, the painting reflects the bonds that exist between family, chosen family, and the people who accompany us through life.
The abstract composition invites personal interpretation while exploring themes of memory, belonging, resilience, and human connection. Like many of my paintings, it is less concerned with providing answers and more interested in creating space for reflection and emotional resonance.
