About This Artwork
I created Clarity in 2011 as part of my Zen Collection, a body of work shaped by mindfulness, meditation, and Eastern contemplative traditions.
The painting developed slowly through layers of acrylic color. I did not begin with a fixed image. Instead, I followed the surface as it changed, allowing one passage to suggest the next until the composition found its own quiet order.
Soft bands of violet, blue, rose, and muted gray move across the vertical canvas. The transitions are subtle. Color rises and recedes, creating a sense of space without defining a particular place.
Clarity reflects the moment when internal noise begins to settle. It is not perfect certainty. It is the brief clearing in which something previously obscured becomes visible.

Additional Information
The Zen Collection, created between 2010 and 2014, marked a shift in my artistic practice. During this period, I moved away from pastel and became more deeply engaged with acrylic paint, intuitive abstraction, yoga, meditation, and Zen philosophy.
Rather than representing a literal subject, these works examine presence. Their layered surfaces encourage the eye to slow down. Meaning is allowed to emerge gradually through color, repetition, and the experience of sustained attention.
