About This Artwork
I created I Want to Find It in 2021 as part of my Still I Rise series. The work emerged from a restless heart, trying to make sense of a fractured world and the political upheaval of the time.
I painted while listening to Keane, letting the music’s swelling urgency shape the movement of the marks. The layered colors hold both despair and hope. They do not offer an answer so much as a feeling: the unsettled, persistent desire for transformation, empathy, and action.
Even amid turmoil, the work holds on to the courage to imagine something better.
