In the End, This is All That Remains is an original mixed media work on archival paper that I created as a deeply introspective exploration of impermanence and the lasting significance of human connection. Through layered textures, fragmented forms, and a blend of organic and structured elements, I tried to capture the feeling of time passing and memories accumulating and dissolving like echoes of the people who have shaped us.
As I worked, I found myself questioning what truly endures at the end of a life. Is it the pursuit of material comfort, or is it the relationships that have held us together, the fleeting encounters that shifted us, the love we gave and received, the people who shared our most intimate spaces? This piece does not try to provide answers. Instead, it serves as a space for contemplation, inviting viewers to look inward and consider what will remain when everything else falls away.
