About This Artwork
I created Not Fade Away in 2018 using pastel and oil on archival paper. The work emerged through an intuitive process, allowing color, gesture, and texture to move freely across the surface.
The title speaks to emotional permanence. Time alters nearly everything. Memory blurs. Circumstances rearrange the shape of a life. Still, certain parts of us resist disappearance.
Layers of pastel and oil create movement across the paper, shifting between softness and insistence. Some marks seem nearly erased. Others remain visible beneath everything placed over them. Together, they suggest that what survives is not always untouched, but it survives nonetheless.
Not Fade Away is a reflection on resilience, memory, and the pieces of identity that remain recognizable through change.
