About This Artwork
I created Revolution in Bloom in 2018 as part of my Lotus Project. A figure takes shape within fields of vivid blue, yellow, orange, and violet. It seems to be emerging through the color, not separate from it, as if becoming is something the whole surface is doing.
I built the image through layering, obscuring, and revealing. The figure remains open to interpretation, holding both vulnerability and strength. Around it, the colors press forward and recede, creating a sense of movement and change.
For me, the work speaks to personal revolution: the inward turning that allows us to begin again and become more fully ourselves. Its bright, unfolding forms suggest renewal, with the persistence of something in bloom.
