About This Artwork
The Chaos That Followed Me Home was created in 2026 after I spent seven hours in an emergency room following a medical event described to me as a silent heart attack. I eventually left the hospital, but the experience did not remain there.
Fluorescent lights, crowded hallways, medical alarms, uncertainty, and bodies waiting beneath hospital blankets followed me home as physical and emotional residue. Bright colors overlap and collide across the paper, translating that sensory overload into movement rather than depicting the hospital literally.
The piece emerged through my creative meditation practice. Making it gave form to the nervous energy that remained after the immediate danger had passed. The body had returned home, but the noise had not.
