ABOUT
Where I Was Unafraid was born from the red sands and wide sky of Utah. In that vast emptiness, where the land seems infinite and silent, I found a place where I could finally breathe. The desert holds a tension in its light and shadow that grounds me, that quiets the restless parts of my nervous system so I can feel my own heart beating in clear rhythm. When we stood at the edge of those canyons, the color of the earth against the sky felt like a pulse, like a deep exhale, and in that space I felt strong and unguarded and utterly myself. This work is not only a landscape but a memory of being regulated in a place where time expands, where air fills the lungs without resistance, and where the unending horizon whispered that strength and belonging could live together. It is a testament to how that desert calms my body and sharpens my spirit, and how in standing in that vastness I discover a version of myself that feels both resilient and at peace.
