Q2: Belonging & Care
Q2 THEME: BELONGING & CARE
This quarter, we turn our attention to what it means to be held and to hold. To notice the spaces where we feel seen and the spaces where we do not and to sit in both without judgment. Belonging is not a thing that is granted or earned. It lives in the small acts of attention, in the quiet acknowledgment of presence, in the moments we choose to listen and to speak even softly. Care is not a transaction. It is a river that moves in many directions, sometimes visible, sometimes barely there, yet it carries us, shapes us, and reminds us that our lives are woven together in ways we often fail to notice until we stop to look.
In this group, we explore how connection can be radical, how support can be simple, and how the act of showing up for one another is itself an act of resilience. Each month, we gather not to perform or to fix, but to witness, to reflect, to rest in the company of others who understand the quiet labor of staying alive, the delicate work of showing up, and the gentle power of being held. We leave carrying a little more warmth, a little more steadiness, and a little more capacity for ourselves and for each other, noticing that belonging begins in the moment we recognize our shared humanity.
Nonprofit Partner Organization
The Angel Band Project provides trauma-informed music therapy to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence. This entirely nonprofit, clinical program is led by board-certified music therapists who work directly with individuals and small groups to support healing, emotional expression, and resilience. Through songwriting, rhythm exercises, and guided music experiences, participants find a safe space to process trauma, reclaim their voices, and connect with others who understand their experiences. The Angel Band Project emphasizes creative expression, community, and empowerment, helping survivors move toward hope, confidence, and a sense of belonging through the transformative power of music.
